Chime For Change recently celebrated its one year anniversary and Beyonce was in attendance with her check book in tow. After donating $500,000 to the cause, Bey, who is a cofounder, enjoyed the festivities with other celebs including her sister Solange, James Franco, and Blake Lively. Chime For Change is set up in part by Gucci, Frida Giannini (Creative Director of Gucci) and Salem Hayek.
As part of the anniversary celebration, and to raise additional support for girls and women around the world, Gucci will donate 10% of sales in its Fifth Avenue Flagship store from June 2 to June 5 to further support Shining Hope for Communities, Millennium Promise in partnership with Embrace Innovations, and Girls for Gender Equity.
The campaign gives a voice and support to women across the world. They focus on using innovative approaches to raise funds and awareness for projects promoting Education, Health and Justice for girls and women. One such way is through their Sound of Change Live concert, which was held in London at Twickenham Stadium. It was the first global concert event in history to support girls’ and women’s empowerment.
Solange was on the 1’s and 2’s
