Burberry Debuts SS/15 Campaign in Colour

Burberry recently launched its highly anticipated S/S 2015 campaign featuring 44 year old supermodel and icon Naomi Campbell, alongside a 24 year old Jourdan Dunn. The colorful and energetic campaign was shot by the talented Mario Testino and we are super excited to see models of color featured in mainstream campaigns as of late. In addition, this is the first time Burberry has exclusively used black models for their campaign. Bethann Hardison has been making fashion headlines since at least 1973, the year she walked in Le Grand Divertissement à Versailles, a runway show that pitted American fashion designers against French ones. (The Americans won, thanks in large part to the prowess of Hardison and her fellow catwalkers Pat Cleveland and Alva Chinn.) These days the model-turned-model agent-turned industry legend is in the news for her advocacy. Hardison’s cause: diversity on the runways. Naomi Campbell says her campaign to counter racism in fashion was inspired by Nelson Mandela, who once dubbed her his “honorary granddaughter. “I’ve seen a huge change this season already,” Campbell said. “Giorgio Armani used four models of color in his show, and a model of color opened his show, which is something that I haven’t seen in a very long time.
