Marc Jacobs Fall 2017 RTW

Riley Montana in Marc Jacobs
Marc Jacobs' Hip-Hop Influenced Runway Show The Cool Kids Take Over the Park Avenue Armory We definitely have NOT forgotten about the Marc Jacobs collection from last season that took cultural appropriation to another level with Caucasian models strutting the runway in multicolored faux locks. Immediately after the social media storm, Jacobs began defending himself and his statements only made the situation worse! Aside from that, he listed over 10 inspirations including Harajuku girls, London in the 80's, Boy George, Ravers, House music and more, yet there was just one very important inspiration that was conveniently excluded! The issue he truly faced was not the fact that he used locks in his show, but that it was overwhelmingly white (models) AND he...

Our fav supermodel, Chanel Iman slays the September issue of Harper's Bazaar Kazakhstan in everything from Miu Miu, Prada, Versace, Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Celine, Chanel, and Alexander McQueen. This Korean/Black beauty was born in Atlanta and started modeling at the age of 12. She has since taken the industry by storm with credits that span from Vogue Magazine and Victoria Secret to Alexander McQueen, Valentino and many more. Zuhair Murad Fall 2016 Couture

Zuhair Murad's Hippie Couture Collection Diverse Models Slay in Embellished Gowns & Thigh High Boots Innovative designer, Zuhair Murad never seems to disappoint! This season he gives LIFE with no parole as diverse models parade the runway in embellished lace, velvet, capes, chic hats and super sexy thigh high boots.  Pinched waist lines, sequins, bell-sleeves and form fitting cuts defined this collection, while the crimson and purple added a hint of color to otherwise black, beige, and soft pink looks. Yes, it sounds like way too much for any one collection, but Murad makes it WERK! It feels much like hippie chic, but actually looks more like rock star couture! Not sure that we are loving the wide buckled belts though. “She’s young,...
