Philippe Plein Menswear Fall 2017

From Mugshots to Headshots

Prison Bae opens the Philipp Plein Runway Show at Fashion Week

Jeremy Meeks, the man we all know and love as #PrisonBae opened the Philippe Plein runway show in a fur-hooded parka with Nas and Lauryn Hill blasting, “If I Ruled the World” in the background. With cheek bones for the gawds, gangsta tats and piercing eyes, Jeremy stole the show (well, the press) and got the opportunity to walk alongside Fetty Wap, Desiigner, and Yung Thug, among others. Plein is looking to take over the American market and believes that (we) are spoiled, but recognizes the economic potential. According to VOGUE, Plein said…“All the people are asking, ‘Who the fuck is Philipp Plein?’ And I’m here to answer the question.” The guest list was rather interesting and was a quite different mix than one would expect, including Madonna, Sophia Richie, Tiffany Trump, Fat Joe, Kylie Jenner, and NFL player, Danny Amendola.

The show took place at the New York Public Library at Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street and featured a collection full of literal shine and embellishment from rhinestones to rips and glitter. There were bomber and motorcycle jackets as well as oversized pieces, thigh-high boots (on the female models). It definitely made for a great show!
