11th Annual Keep A Child Alive Black Ball

Alicia Keys hosted her 11th annual Keep A Child Alive Black Ball at Hammerstein Ballroom on October 30, 2014 in NYC! She received overwhelming support from her celebrity friends as well as her hubby, Swizz Beats, who seemed more than ecstatic about co-hosting alongside P Diddy and his pregnant {and glowing} wife. Guests included Andre Leon Talley, Bethanm Hardison, Joan Smalls, Selita Ebanks, Angela Simmons, Alek Wek, Kanye, Madonna and many more. Keep A Child Alive "celebrates the power and potential of a generation of young people who are living with HIV.' There is definitely cause to celebrate as over 2.3 million was raised for the charity. Givenchy's Ricardo Tisci {Ahh we love him} was honored and live collaborative performances included...

Lupita Nyong’o Continues to Redefine Standards of Beauty

Oscar winner, Yale graduate, and "Woman of the Year," Lupita Nyong'o covers Glamour Magazine's December issue. I must say, I am very impressed with her interview. Editors at Glamour could have taken the easy route and focused only on Lupita's life as the new fashion industry muse or who she's dating or her next role. Instead, they provided a platform for her to continue dialogue about our current standards of beauty and how she is slowly redefining how we see it! Playwright Eve Ensler refers to Lupita Nyong'o as "one of the great talents and spirits of our time, at the beginning of an extraordinary journey,' and we couldn't agree more. Lupita's role in 12 Years a Slave led to her win...

Leather in $20K Hermès Birkin Bags Smell Like “Marijuana”

According to Page Six, a batch of the exclusive and oh so pricey Hermès Birkin bags have experienced a high level of complaints and returns to luxury boutiques due to a strong  marijuana-like smell coming from the leather.  Boutique reps are stating that "there was a problem with a “badly tanned” batch of leather from a supplier." Apparently the tanning process has a set back...

Chanel Cruise 2015

Our fav Puerto Rican glamazon, Joan Smalls is the face of the new Chanel Cruise 2015 ad campaign. Originally presented in Dubai, the collection was shot by Uncle Karl Lagerfeld.  Joan is photographed wearing patterned looks from the cruise collection, which is said to be inspired by orient romanticism. The campaign also features Hudson Kroenig, (Karl's godson) and the son of model, Brad Kroenig. There has been a bit of controversy surrounding this editorial as Hudson's presence seems unnecessary; almost like he is a prop. Although we will always love Chanel, it definitely doesn't give us a "romantic" feel. What are your thoughts dolls and gents?
